This is a role that is not to be missednWe are on the lookout for a motivated Graduate Assistant Designer to join the toddler and baby design team based in our Maldon, Essex Office.nWho are we?:nThe Blues Group is one of the UK’s leading Apparel License suppliers.nOur brands and what we do is pretty specialised, we have 5 different divisions that make up our group: Dennicci (Babywear), Blues Clothing (Toddler Daywear), Blues Nightwear (Kids & Adult Nightwear), Cohen & Wilks (Outerwear) and Brecrest (Baby & Teen Sportswear).nAs a licensed supplier, we have the privilege to work with some amazing licenses such as Disney, Looney Tunes, Peter Rabbit & Warner Bros.nSo, what will the role involve and what will you do?

The entry level Graduate Assistant Designer role is an important role for the group and you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Designers and wider toddler & Baby design team.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Stay updated on current fashion trends, materials, and techniques.nConduct market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences.nChase samples from factories.nComplete 1 st

initial comments with support from Junior Designers and Designers.nDevelop detailed technical drawings and specifications for garments.nSelect appropriate pantones and colours for each style and range.nLiaise with the production team to ensure specs are a correct representation of the design.nRegular store visits/shop reports.nAccurate recording of all relevant design information onto the Group system.nRespond to customer and factory queries.nLiaise with Licensors and assist with checking License approvals including concept, strike offs and PP sample uploads obtaining full product approval.nCreate and send to the factories new sample requests, style details and accurate artwork: sending reference sources where applicable.nChecking initial samples in comparison to tech packs before sending to the customer.nSupport the design team to ensure all key dates are achieved.nAssist the design team with adhoc administration duties.nAssist with the design of new packaging for each range where applicable.nCollaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams across the group
