A responsible approach to tax is just one part of their wider ethos, namely, to do business in the right way, compliant with all indirect tax obligations whilst optimising their tax position.

This comprehensive accounting role requires a deep understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders within the organisation.

Location: Minimum of 3 days per week in their head office, Houghton Hall Business Park, Dunstable, LU5 5XE

What you’ll do:

  • Manage Indirect Tax compliance process for the Whitbread group.
  • Provide advice and support to the business on indirect tax matters. In addition, work with and support Tax Manager in Germany and Finance Director in UAE.
  • Manage Indirect Tax audits, disputes, enquiries and correspondence from the Tax authorities.
  • Minimise Tax risks by ensuring there are processes and controls in place and documented.
  • Lobby HMRC and participate in consultations relevant to the Whitbread business.

What we need:

  • In-depth, practical knowledge of UK VAT, GST and sales taxes in other countries.
  • Relevant sector experience (retail and real estate).
  • Proven track record of working within business or accountancy practice.
  • Ability to advise businesses on a variety of indirect tax related issues.
