Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Kenton Black Scientific are pleased to be working with a leading manufacture of consumer electronics, seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Electronics Engineer to join our innovative team in Cambridge.
They are looking for a professional who is passionate about electronics and embedded systems, has a keen eye for detail and can bring new product ideas to the team.
Requirements for this role:
- Possesses a first-class or upper second-class BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience working within the electronics engineering industry.
- Proven track record with embedded systems development for high-volume electronics production.
- Able to demonstrate expertise in the design, testing, and implementation of electronic components and systems.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of electronics engineering (analogue, SMPS, EMC/EMI, PCB)
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
• Work within the NPD Electronics Team to develop electronics hardware (circuit and PCB layout).
• Carry out electronics hardware validation and fault-finding.
• Ensure EMC compliance on new projects.
• Liaise with mechanical engineers to ensure good mechanical fit of the electronics.
• Carry out product testing (functionality, reliability, and safety).
• Take ownership and manage small to large work packages or projects providing regular updates and ensuring the deadlines are met.
• PCB rework and prototyping.
• Liaise with external suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Assist or develop test procedures for lab and manufacture testing.
• Creation of test reports to a professional standard.
• Act as a lead electronics engineer on a project (depending on experience).
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and certification processes for electronic products.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical data and provide clear and concise recommendations.
- Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices.
