Summary of RolenUse both mechanical and electrical engineering skills / knowledge to maintain and enhance the performance of plant and equipment. Provide first class, flexible support to production requirements and factory services at all times by means of the application of electrical/mechanical skills in fault-finding/diagnostics, planned preventative maintenance practices and electrical/mechanical installation.
ResponsibilitiesnComply with all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements.nEnsure accurate & timely records are entered / recorded of all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares / consumables usednEnsure maintenance engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods / procedures to reduce these utilising our CMMS (computerised maintenance management system)nTo work as part of the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is deliverednPerforming detailed preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with schedulesnFault diagnosis and rectification on all plant and equipment within the manufacturing facilitynIdentifying the root cause of asset faults, improving asset performance and reliability to meet operational objectivesnProvide a fast and efficient response time to any plant breakdowns that occur, whilst ensuring all company procedures and standards are adhered tonTo work and train new apprentices in a maintenance discipline
The ideal candidate wil have the following skills, knowledge and behaviours:
EssentialnRecognised electrical and mechanical qualificationsnA recognised time-served Mechatronics apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering maintenance disciplinenA proven maintenance engineering professional with high standards of electrical and mechanical understanding and competenciesnExpertise in fault diagnosis and rectification processes, and planned and corrective maintenance activities gained from within a similar role as part of an industrial maintenance teamnAbility to work to find root cause of failure in reactive maintenance scenarios, and implement permanent corrective actionsnThe ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematicsnExperience with Microsoft office and CMMS (computerised Maintenance management system)
DesirablenKnowledge and understanding of health and safety processesnKnowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures and deliverablesnUnderstanding of environmental controls and practicesn18th Edition BS7671 certificatedn2391/52 inspection and testing qualifiednPLC programming and fault finding
