Position Overview:

As IT Shopfloor Systems Director, you will assuming responsibility for driving the continued evolution and development of Lear propriety & Vendor Managed Shop Floor IT Systems across over 65 manufacturing facilities within Europe & Africa. Reporting directly to the Vice President of IT for the region, you will assume responsibility for the regional SFS organization tasked with driving enhanced synergies within Lear’s SFS whilst working collaboratively with both Regional and Global Leadership Teams from IT and Operations.

Key Tasks

  • Oversee an organization of approximately 35 SFS team members within the region driving key focus on talent development initiatives.
  • Act as focal interface for all regional SFS topics between both Seating and ES Business Groups, IT VP Europe & Global Shopfloor Centres of Excellence based in Lear’s Global HQ.
  • Create an environment of awareness and accountability between Lear Regional SFS and Plant IT Operations Teams to ensure reliable deployment and delivery for critical Lear Systems
  • Assume ownership for regional IT SFS Budget, Capex, Cost Control, Headcount and LRP process
  • Working collaboratively with IT Security Director to Ensure Shopfloor Systems are running in a secure environment in a continuous way
  • End of Life Planning:Define and execute the end-of-life strategy to replace the obsolete shop floor systems within Lear Europe & Africa
  • Work collaboratively with the AME organization in order to secure a structured support mechanism between Advanced Manufacturing and Shopfloor IT systems
  • New Sites: Define & Execute the planned PMO portfolio to ensure deployment of Lear architecture into greenfield / brownfield facilities
  • Regulatory / Audit / Compliance:Work collaboratively with IT Leadership, Country Security Councils, External Bodies and Affiliations to ensure Lear is at the forefront of regulatory compliance topics

Key Requirements

  • Significant experience in leading multinational IT Operations teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of both defining the technical roadmap and executing the required changes to drive synergies & organizational initiatives with IT shopfloor systems.
  • Sound financial acumen and cost control focus with demonstrated experience of defining managing multimillion dollar budgets
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES) knowledge.
  • Extensive experience of dealing with IT Shopfloor vendor management
  • Executive presence with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a multinational organization.
  • University degree in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline – Additional master in IT or MBA would be a plus.
  • Fluent in English – any additional European language would be a plus.
