What you become part of:nEdmonton Operations produce 50 million cases of drinks per year across their 5 manufacturing lines. The site can produce up to 142,000 litres of drink per hour consisting of BIB, PET and Glass bottling.
They are the only site in GB to produce our Oasis Drinks. There are over 300 people across Manufacturing, QESH and Engineering. Experience gained here can lead to excellent career opportunities both in Edmonton and further afield across other GB sites and Pan-European locations.
What to expect:nYou will become a key member of the site Microbiology team, performing and monitoring microbiological tests in line with company and legal requirements.
You will identify trends and opportunities for micro improvement and recommend any associated preventative and corrective actions.
Key responsibilities include:nWork consistently with operational teams to continually develop quality performance and compliance.nReview Microbiology performance and compliance against existing plans, identify gaps and recommend corrective and preventative actions as requirednSupport the launch of new sensitive products by execution and coordination of microbiology checksnComplete microbiological analysis as part of the investigation into complaints to identify the (potential) source/root cause to enable resolutionnCo-ordinate and support site validation activities relating to facility, equipment, hygiene and CIP (Clean in Place) systemsnProvide routine and ad-hoc microbiological reports, monitor performance and initiate relevant actions for results or trendsnRoutinely review microbiology testing data to identify adverse trends to avoid non-conformances against the standardsnManage and maintain condition and supply of microbiology testing equipment, consumables and laboratory facilitiesnEnsure efficiency of laboratory operations by identifying and exploiting new technologies.nProvide basic microbiological training to Operations to expand site capabilities and flexibilitynPerform internal audits, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) audits and compliance checksnSupport other QESH departments as necessarynBe a member of the HACCP team
Skills & Essentials:
Bachelor degree in Microbiology or Food Science.nPrevious work experience of practical microbiological testing on food products essentialnGood communication skillsnMethodical and organisednGood understanding of statistical process control and problem solving
