The Opportunity
Due to increased project expansion, our leading client is currently on the lookout for an experienced EC&I Engineer to drive the development of key nuclear projects.
Estimated Duration- 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
The role
Warrington Offices, Risley (Other Locations Considered) Working from Home Permitted by Agreement. Attendance at Sellafield Site Required for Site Surveys & Stakeholder Walkdowns (As Required). EC&I Design Engineer to deliver designs for Asset Care Tasks and Projects.
As the EC&I Engineer, you will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver packages across the project lifecycle including support to concept, detailed design, and execution support phases.
Work will be delivered under the direction of the CE&I Lead Engineer or CE&I Responsible Engineer.
Work packages support the upgrade/replacement of existing assets or provide new capability to support Post Operation Clean Out (POCO) or other strategic programmes of work.Your duties and responsibilities will be
Develop fit-for-purpose designs which take account of the latest industry developments and relevant good practice.
Comply with all legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures applicable to the role.
Ensure applicable safety, security and environmental requirements are met.
Deliver designs to time, cost, and quality requirements – identifying risks and implementing recovery strategies and mitigations were needed.
Produce design deliverables – including, but not limited to: Reports, Specifications, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Calculations, Design Drawings, Design Substantiation Reports and Cyber Security Justification Reports.
Underpin and document key design decisions.
Provide technical advice and guidance.
Attend and support regular technical and progress meetings.
Provide regular progress updates.
Present designs at design reviews.
Incorporate, capture, and share Learning from Experience (LFE).
Coach and support the development of less experienced engineers for the benefit of the company and the engineering profession.
Support validation and verification activities.
Support the production of enabling documentation such as Plant Modification Proposals (PMPs), Engineers Orders and Commissioning Documents.
Support execution phase activities including Manufacture, Installation and Commissioning.
Support development of Operation and Maintenance documentation.You will have the following qualifications and experience
CDM Regulations.
AutoCAD.
Trimble Prodesign.
Office Applications.
Knowledge of Relevant Applicable Standards and Legislation
Demonstrable experience of BS 7671 and electrical system design.
Demonstrable experience of Instrumentation design.
Experience of the design of safety systems to BS EN 61508 and/or Sellafield Standard ES 2190.
Experience of Working in the Nuclear Industry or another highly regulated environment.
Minimum ONC.It's great if you also have the following
Machinery Safety Systems.
Lighting and Emergency Lighting.
Lightning Protection.
Radiometric Monitoring.
BEng (Hons).
