Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Utilities Site Engineer within the Utilities Team. This role will be based on site in Coventry.
With 13km of rural high-speed line Sublot 2B extends north from Kenilworth, through Warwickshire, Balsall Common and Burton Green to the River Blythe. The strategy for Sublot 2B is to deliver the main structures enabling full connectivity across the two Network Rail corridor crossings – the Coventry to Leamington Spa Line and the West Coast Mainline at Carol Green – alongside supporting the mass haul of materials between sublots.
To undertake Site Engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring and reporting of progress together with maintaining contemporary records for as built, assurance and handover.
Experienced required
• Setting out techniques – ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS
• Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card.
• Understands Activity Control Plans and production of resultant information for handover file.
• Strong understanding of construction tolerances

About Balfour Beatty VINCI
Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
• 9.3km of viaducts
• 62 overbridges
• 35 cuttings
• 56 culverts
• 62 embankments
• 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
• 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Utilities Site Engineer .
This role will be based on site in Water Orton. The project’s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction – a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers.
The following qualities/experience are essential
· Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
· Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
· Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights.
· Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card.
· Must be a good team player, with developed communication skills.
 · Understands Permit to Dig System, to suit appointment as Authorised Engineer for Permit issue
· Strong understanding of construction tolerances
· Awareness and use of Specification and other Contract documents
· Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works.
· Knowledge of specification and contract documents
· Understands what constitutes additional works.
