Our client is looking to further expand their professional administration Team and are looking to recruit an additional Bookings Officer to complement the team that delivers outstanding customer service to a variety of self-pay, private medical insured and NHS patients.
The role is presented on a temporary basis initially, leading to permanent, generally after a period of 12 weeks.
Where is the position based?
This is predominantly a working from home role, but for one day every two weeks, you will be expected to work on site at their Head Office in Deal. Therefore, applicants MUST be located within a reasonable travel distance from Deal, ie. Folkestone, Dover, Canterbury, Ashford etc,
You may also be asked on a very small number of occasions as needed, to have quick and easy access to their sites at Margate, Ashford & Canterbury, so own transport is considered essential.
The Position:
As a Bookings Officer, you will provide a sympathetic and professional administration service to patients and service users.
You will assist in the smooth and efficient running of all appointments and bookings, maintaining accurate electronic patient records and bookings system, whilst liaising with customers, staff, consultants, patients and other service users.
The Bookings Department supports several consultants in different specialist fields across all 3 of their hospitals to provide an easy and seamless booking service for all types of patient appointments which will include outpatient, pre-assessment and in-patient bookings. The department is always busy, so if you enjoy working in a varied environment and able to multi-task, this could be your ideal role.
ESSENTIAL Experience Required:
2 years + experience in a busy administration environment
Excellent IT skills including MS Office
Maths and English GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above
Outstanding communication skills
A polite and confident telephone manner
A team player
Ability to exceed in terms of customer service
DESIRABLE Experience:
Medical administration experience
Experience liaising with GP’s and patients
Experience of booking appointments
Knowledge and experience of Trust systems, ie. Patient Care (PAS)/DART OCM/EDN EPR/RIS/X-ray etc
Please note our client would consider individuals with experience outside the health/medical setting providing you meet ALL OTHER essential criteria mentioned above.
Hours of Work etc:
Monday to Friday
37.5 hours per week
Starting on a temp to perm basis
Predominantly working from home
Salary: £23,957.00 or £12.25 per hour
