An exciting opportunity has arisen in Cheltenham, Hays has partnered with a well-established business within the rewarding care sector. We are now looking for a Finance professional with varied experience to join our clients’ Finance team, for an exciting role as a Finance Assistant.


You will mainly support with purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payroll and admin duties.

The role will be Monday to Friday working from 9am to 5pm.


Your new role

As an Accounts Executive, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties will be as follows:

  • To process purchase invoices and sales invoices
  • Getting involved in bank statement reconciliation
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Credit Control- chasing debt
  • Dealing with weekly purchase ledger payments
  • To update the daily cash flow
  • Supporting with monthly payroll (data entry)
  • Getting involved in pension payments and reconciliation
  • To update financial spreadsheets as necessary
  • Supporting with ad hoc tasks as required by the Accountant, including month end duties
  • As Finance Assistant, you will also get involved in office administration tasks, such as ordering stationary


What you’ll need to succeed

  • Previous as a Finance Assistant or in a similar role
  • To be either AAT qualified or qualified with experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel would also be beneficial
  • Previous experience using Accounting software such as, Xero and Sage would be transferable
  • Strong attention to detail
