Associate Director

The Opportunity

An ambitious, growing, and award-winning consumer PR agency is seeking an Associate Director to join their team. Creativity is the driving force behind the agency, making this role perfect for someone passionate about the industry. If you thrive on winning new business, seeing campaigns make headlines, and celebrating success during awards season, this could be the role for you. The agency is looking for someone energetic, entrepreneurial, charismatic, and skilled at building rapport with clients and teams.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an established Associate Director or a Senior Account Director with at least 18 months of experience at that level, ready to step up. The candidate should have agency experience in a creative consumer business, a proven track record in planning, running, and growing accounts, and a passion for media relations. The candidate should also be eager to shape the future of a growing agency and comfortable with managing day-to-day account activities while contributing to the strategic direction of the agency.

The Agency

This consumer PR agency excels in creating work that gets outstanding results, using insights and creativity to put its clients at the heart of conversations. With a team of approximately 40, they deliver memorable work that drives tangible business benefits. They cover sectors including sport, lifestyle/travel/home, and food & beverage/FMCG, working with a diverse range of clients. The agency prides itself on its impactful, community-driven approach, resulting in numerous accolades, including PR Week, CIPR, and PRCA awards.

The agency is committed to a diverse and inclusive culture, with a 60:40 female-to-male split and 80% of the senior leadership team being women. This commitment is reflected in their perfect score on PR Week's Gender & Ethnicity Pay Gap Report for three consecutive years. They offer perks such as unlimited holiday, structured wellbeing support, and private medical insurance.

The Role:

In this senior role, you will oversee multiple accounts across sectors such as sport, lifestyle/travel/home, and food & beverage/FMCG. The exact clients and team will be chosen based on your experience and interests. Your responsibilities will include working with a Director to help manage and service a team across a range of areas, leading the planning process and activation for communications campaigns, and driving organic growth and opportunities within client teams. Additionally, you will play a key role in identifying, leading, and managing new business opportunities, actively contributing to the growth, development, and success of the agency. You will operate with multiple hats, including but not limited to being:

A trusted client partner

You excel in building trusting relationships, collaborating, and contributing to exceptional work. With a strong grasp of client business and industry trends, you drive innovative ideas, ensuring maximum impact for clients. You show excellent instincts and sound strategic judgement, and become the go to person for your clients.

Someone who is always looking to improve them and their team

You will actively contribute to the development of yourself and your team, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture. As someone between the SLT and the account teams, you will advocate for your team, and identify learning and growth opportunities.

Someone hungry to grow the team and business

You will contribute to the financial success of the agency, supporting a Director in overseeing team financials, forecasting, staffing, and scoping client work. Your role will extend to leading new business opportunities, understanding the business/financial landscape, and driving organic growth for clients.

Requirements

  • Established Associate Director or at least 18 months as a Senior Account Director, ready to take the next step.
  • Experience in running teams and managing campaigns.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing accounts independently.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and ability to sell ideas effectively.
  • Experience in leading new business pitches and strategic planning.
  • Excellent instincts and sound strategic judgement.

If you are a creative, ambitious, and inclusive consumer PR leader, driven to make a meaningful impact and empower teams, we invite you to apply.

We will try to get back to as many people as possible, but if you don’t hear from us within one week from sending your application, you unfortunately haven’t been successful this time.
