We are currently recruiting on behalf of an award-winning Care Home in Cardiff Gwent who are looking for a chef to join their dedicated team. We are looking for exceptional individuals with the right attitude, skills and knowledge who share our passion to deliver the best quality catering experience to the residents.
Chef Job Details:
* Full time hours
* Shifts: 8am – 6pm
* £13.00 +
About the home:
This warm and friendly Residential Home is rated ‘Good’ in all areas in their CQC report and specialises in elderly respite care. The care home is located within beautiful and picturesque surroundings in Cardiff. With a capacity of 73 residents this home cares for and supports adults of all ages with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
The Chef Role:
Are you passionate about cooking? Do you want to play a key role in our service by devising a weekly menu and cooking with our residents? This will encompass meeting all the relevant nutritional and dietary needs of the people we support, then this could be the role for you
Skills and attributes of our Chef:
* Passion for cooking as well as nutrition
* Understanding of Health and safety regulations including COSHH regulations
* Experience of HACCP risk assessments
* Knowledge on food and hygiene regulations
* Ability to supervise catering staff.
* Basic nutrition knowledge
* Ability to organise a catering environment.
* Capability of working in a position that requires manual handling tasks as a core requirement
* Must be able to demonstrate an understanding and awareness of equality & diversity
* Good communication skills in order to relate well to staff as well service users
* Basic written communication skills to leave written instructions and to follow a stock control system
* Basic administrative skills
