Head of Data Architecture West Mids, (Hybrid, typically 2 days on-site) £95,000–£100,000 + car allowance + benefits Shape the blueprint. Lead the change. This is your chance to build the foundations of how a national organisation thinks, talks, and acts on data. You’ll own the data architecture vision, lead a small high-impact team, and embed the principles that make insight trusted, repeatable and fast. If you want to do architecture that actually gets used, not parked in a framework deck this is it. What you’ll drive Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture: principles, models, patterns and guardrails across every function. Partner with data, technology and business leaders to build a unified, governed data ecosystem. Turn policy into practice design models that make analytics reliable and self-service thrive. Raise data literacy and evangelise the “why” behind data quality and good modelling. Coach two talented Data Modellers and elevate the craft across teams. Lead the continuous modernisation of data platforms and architecture standards. What you bring Proven success leading data architecture or enterprise modelling in complex, regulated environments. Fluency in frameworks such as TOGAF, DAMA, BEAM or Kimball and the pragmatism to know when to bend them. A talent for translating technical design into plain English for execs and end-users. A modern view of architecture collaborative, evolutionary and business-led. Broad knowledge of cloud data platforms, integration and metadata management tools.
