I am currently working with an sub-contract engineering business in Essex, who are now recruiting for a Technical Sales Estimator to join their existing team.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Technical Sales Estimator will come from a technical background in either engineering or manufacturing who can operate in a commercial role to estimate new enquiries and assist the team.

The main requirements of the Technical Sales Estimator will be to:nInterpret customers’ requirements from specifications and drawings.nUsing software to create quotations and price proposals.nLiaise with suppliers for material and sub-contract costs.nDeal with client's technical questions with support from the company's manufacturing engineers.nPromote the business and follow up on enquiries to maximise new business opportunities.nFollowing up existing enquiries to encourage feedback from our customers.nLiaising with the engineering, production, and quality staff to ensure the customer’s specific requirements are communicated to staff in all departments.

The ideal candidate for the Technical Sales Estimator will have:nGood understanding of manufacturing principles.nExperience in sheet metal and fabrication industrynProven experience in a customer service role within a business-to-business environment.nAbility to organise and manage multiple priorities.nExcellent organisational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly.nWorking knowledge of MS Office.n2D CAD experience, handling and analysing dxf and dwg files.nThe ability to use 3D CAD software would also be advantageous but training can be provided if required.

In return, the Technical Sales Estimator can expect to receive a competitive salary, depending on their level of experience and knowledge, free onsite parking and no shutdowns throughout the year (except Christmas). Ongoing training and personal development is also available.
