About the Role:
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual seeking to expand their skills within a dynamic and skilled team environment. As a Toolmaker, you will be instrumental in the production of precision bespoke one-off tools, utilising a range of manual and CNC machines to meet customer specifications and demands.
Responsibilities:
Use high-quality bespoke one-off tools using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines employing XYZ and Heidenhain control systems.
Fabricate jigs and fixtures to enhance production efficiency.
Assemble tools to exacting standards.
Interpret and apply engineering drawings, conducting first-off inspections.
Undertake additional duties as required, potentially including secondment to other areas of the shop floor.
Engage in ongoing training and development initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge, fostering a culture of continual improvement.
Support knowledge sharing and mentorship of apprentices and trainees within the department.
About You:
Demonstrated proficiency in CNC programming, setting, and operating.
Solid experience with manual milling and turning machines.
Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and worldwide as needed.
Possession of a valid driving license and passport is essential.
Experience in toolmaking, CNC machine operation, machining, engineering, and related fields such as XYZ, Heidenhain, HAAS, milling, CNC turning, tool setting, cutting, and manufacturing will be beneficial. While candidates may have some or all of the above skills and experience, comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate.
