The salary band for this surgical position is £75,000 to £95,000 (full-time equivalent)

About the role
This initial 6-to-12-month fixed term role will enable an experienced surgeon to help take the reins of the huge surgical caseload at our flagship hospital in East London.
Working 2 to 3 days per week (Thursday being a preferred day) you will support the team with their soft tissue and orthopaedic cases, although the soft tissue requirement is priority.
The hospital has extensive orthopaedic equipment including locking kits, desoutter drills and a dedicated orthopaedic theatre.
For soft tissue surgeries the hospital performs all surgery from GP to referral level including SUB placement, liver resections and thoracic surgery. The hospital also benefits from having multiple cautery units including a harmonic scalpel and a full laparoscopic/thoracoscopy kit.
Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service to our clients and local network of 20 branches and work to the highest clinical standards.
There is state of the art diagnostic support at Wanstead, with a new CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.
Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of leafy Essex but has quick and direct transport links that take you straight into all areas of London There is a bustling café and restaurant culture in Wanstead so you will never be short of places to visit for a treat.
