AI Researcher - Contractor


Location: Cambridge, England (On-Site)


As an AI Researcher Contractor, you will invent, implement, and deploy cutting-edge AI algorithms and systems to enhance game graphics solutions. This is an on-site role based in Cambridge, England, where you will work on cross-domain projects that combine AI, computer vision, and graphics. You will develop prototypes and explore new concepts, collaborating closely with both AI and computer graphics teams to deliver high-quality, AI-driven graphics systems for mobile devices.


Job Purpose

  • Research and develop neural rendering solutions aimed at real-time mobile game rendering.
  • Integrate AI algorithms to enhance the computer graphics pipeline in terms of both efficiency and quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop AI-based graphics algorithms for mobile games, including AAA titles.
  • Solve technical challenges and refine AI research into practical product solutions.
  • Identify emerging AI technologies and plan for future projects and product innovations.
  • Contribute to project requirements and navigate AI product deployment trade-offs.
  • Establish datasets that align with product deployment needs.
  • Develop evaluation metrics to assess the robustness of computer vision and graphics algorithms across different scenarios.
  • Analyze and optimize the efficiency and performance of solutions for cloud or on-device deployment.
  • Document and report progress to your team, senior management, and cross-functional teams across locations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional managers, researchers, and engineers.



Required :

  • Master’s/PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in computer vision, 3D reconstruction, deep learning, machine learning, or graphics.
  • Expertise in AI, machine learning, and deep learning.
  • Experience developing systems for image/video manipulation and multi-modality content.
  • Proven experience in creating, cleaning, and utilizing datasets for AI model development.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with at least one deep learning framework (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe2, MxNet).
  • A strong publication record in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, SIGGRAPH, BMVC, NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.


Desired (but not essential) :

  • Experience with cloud or on-device AI model deployment.
  • Experience in shipping computer vision or 3D reconstruction technologies in commercial products.
  • Familiarity with generative AI is preferred.
  • Knowledge of semi-supervised, unsupervised, transfer, or lifelong learning is an advantage.
  • Experience with CPU/GPU/NPU optimization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
