At the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), we are dedicated to building a sustainable future through innovative and impactful projects. We are currently working on Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station that will supply low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes for at least 60 years. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Planner to join our team and help drive the success of this groundbreaking project.
About the Role: As a Senior Planner, you will work closely with the Planning Lead and the wider SZC teams to develop, coordinate, and monitor the project delivery programme for the enabling works portion of the project. This role is crucial for managing the main portion schedule and ensuring the smooth execution of civil works. Your key responsibilities will include:
Planning and managing the development, change management, and improvement of the Works Schedule.
Providing planning guidance to the project and programme team.
Collaborating to develop a logical sequence and methodology for the efficient delivery of works.
Supporting the Portion Lead Planner in maintaining project controls processes for scheduling and producing monthly reports.
Producing and documenting planning deliverables, including schedules, presentations, and contract programmes.
Evaluating the project critical path and advising the project team on corrective actions.
Assisting in the trend and change process and supporting the commercial assessment of changes.
Maintaining project baselines and executing the change control process.
Liaising with site teams and supply chains to ensure accurate progress tracking.
Mentoring and supporting the development of other planning team members.
What We’re Looking For: We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Essential:
Proven experience as a Civil Engineering Planner with proficiency in NEC and P6.
Strong communication skills and history of effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to foster a strong safety culture within the project team.
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
Track record of ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and environmental regulations.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills in earthworks and civil engineering projects.
Degree or industry-recognized qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related sector.
Experience in producing and managing Construction Programmes in civil engineering/infrastructure environments.
Desirable:
Membership in CIOB/MICE.
Experience with 4D/Synchro Modelling.
