About The Role
EKFB (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
EKFB are recruiting for a BIM Engineer to join the team in the Twyford to Greatworth Area (T2G) based in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
As a BIM Engineer you will be part of the EKFB Information Management Team (IM) and will manage and monitor the Technical Assurance and CAD compliance of the external supply chain in the production of drawings from detailed design stage to construction.
You will be reporting to the BIM Manager and ensuring that supply chain drawings are standardised and that development of the drawings is in accordance with the EKFB CAD Standards and HS2 Requirements.
The candidate shall also be open minded and proactive to explore additional uses of the tools and technologies available in the market with the aim of bringing innovation to the project.
 
This role will require you to ensure that all design, construction and handover information is compliant with the requirements of the contract and all applicable standards but not limited to ISO 19650 series. You'll be providing the focal point for all design, construction and handover information management issues on the project. You'll monitor processes and provide a communications link between the design and construction teams including consultants and subcontractors.
 
You'll contribute to set up the CDE (ProjectWise) according to the project procedures including document management structure, workflows, naming convention, etc.
The role requires quality control of all BIM / CAD deliverables (models and drawings) in terms of information, requirements and best practices compliance. We would expect you to lead the clash detection process. Clash detection of the project deliverables (design & construction). Manage the clash detection meetings and keep a track record of the issue resolution process
You'll support design and construction works, providing assurance of 3D BIM models relevant to the project (i.e. design, construction works, temporary works, logistics), highlight potential risks and prove the construction sequences. Development of 4D & 5D models of the project. Development of visuals (images, videos) to support communication with different parties in the project. Deliver presentations internally in the project or external events as required.
About The Candidate
Experience in Design Engineering
Knowledge of large scale construction and/or civils projects
Good understanding of ISO 19650
Advanced knowledge and use of Bentley Microstation and ProjectWise
Advanced knowledge and use of Autodesk Autocad Civils 3D and Navisworks software
Understanding and following CAD standards and schemes
