This newly created role of Data Warehouse Developer reports to the Head of IT and is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the company’s data warehouse. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and the IT team to ensure the data warehouse meets business needs and performance standards.

Responsibilities:nDesign and develop data models and schemas for the data warehouse.nBuild and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.nDevelop complex SQL queries and scripts to ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation.nResponsible for the build and deployment of data warehouse capabilities.nEnsure data quality and integrity through validation and cleansing processes.nImplement data warehousing best practices for data ingestion and transformation.nOptimise database performance, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimisation.nMonitor and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure high availability and efficiency.nWork closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements.nCollaborate with IT and development teams to ensure proper integration of the data warehouse with other systems.nMaintain and support existing data warehouse infrastructure.nDevelop and maintain documentation for data models, ETL processes, and workflows.nProvide support for data-related issues and ad hoc queries from end-users.

Requirements:nMinimum 3-5 years’ experience developing and implementing Data Warehouse solutions within financial services (ideally Consumer Credit).nProven experience in data warehousing, data modelling, and database design.nProficiency in SQL (SSMS) and experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, SAS DI, Informatica, Talend).nExperience with data warehouse platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake).nFamiliarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).nStrong understanding of database management systems (DBMS).nKnowledge of data warehousing concepts such as star schema, snowflake schema, and data marts.nExperience with scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Shell scripting) is desirable.nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.nEffective communication and collaboration skills.nAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.nCertifications in data warehousing or related technologies preferred.nExperience with cloud-based data warehouse solutions is a must.nFamiliarity with data governance and data security best practices.
