***Unique opportunity for an English ECT to undertake their induction in a ‘Good’ school.
***Teaching the GCSE English curriculum to KS3 and KS4 students as they approach their exams.
 
The ECT:
At least a bachelor’s degree in English Language, Literature, or a related subject.
Completed- or completing- a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A warm, friendly personality and the ability to form strong bonds with students and colleagues.
Passion for the English field and a commitment to the wellbeing and education of students aged 11-16. 
The Role
As an English ECT, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons that adhere to the national syllabus and monitoring student progress and improvement. You will mark and assess student’s work and provide in-depth, constructive feedback, alongside high-quality support. It is essential in your English ECT role that you partake in activities with the wider school community to create a positive learning environment and build relationships with all students and staff.
 
The School
This ‘Good’ secondary school has a calm, purposeful ethos where pupils are encouraged and supported to achieve their best. Teaching staff work hard to develop relationships with pupils that are positive and respectful. Students are taught explicitly and clearly yet provided with the necessary skills so that they leave our school as autonomous, competent, well-rounded, individuals. The senior leadership team are looking for an English ECT who will assimilate well into the zestful and passionate team of staff in the school’s English department and work hard to improve the progress of each individual GCSE English student.
