Pension Strategist

The ALM team comprises individuals with varied investment backgrounds (Portfolio Managers, Quants, Actuaries and Consultants) and the Quant Strategist will be relied upon to develop and enhance the team's quantitative models. Quant Strategist will be closely working with other ALM teams to risk manage the business, drive transactions, and identify market opportunities.
The ALM team is at the core of our business, and generates value through the management and optimisation of assets versus liabilities. The team seeks to optimise PIC's investment strategy given our purpose, to pay the pensions of our policyholders, and our regulatory obligations.
Key responsibilities:
Build, enhance and maintain the team's models and systems that are used for the management of PIC's balance sheet
Collaborate closely with other members of the ALM team to perform quantitative analysis
Build/implement new tools for the wider investment team and provide technical support in asset selection and risk monitoring
Work closely with IT to understand the company's wider modelling infrastructure and identify and utilise synergies
Be part of the team responsible for the ongoing build-out of a market leading quant ALM platform
Requirements
Essential:
Strong programming skills in Python/MATLAB
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of fixed income products and derivatives. Knowledge of LDI would be a plus
Intellectual curiosity for learning new skills and expanding knowledge of asset classes
Desirable:
Previous experience in creating/validating pricing and risk models in an enterprise analytical platform
Good understanding of Defined Benefit pension schemes and/or Solvency II for Life Insurers
Front-Office experience working in a fast-paced environment
Good understanding of API/SQL/databases
