We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer, r eporting directly to an Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in reviewing and accepting engineering queries raised by the site Contractors related to the electrical scope across the Conventional Island/Balance of Plant (CI/BOP) and Nuclear Island buildings.

Your focus will be on the electrical discipline, but you will collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders, including site Contractors, Construction teams, Quality teams, Project Management teams, and Design teams both on-site and in back offices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to General Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Requests, and Exemption Requests from the MEH Contractor on-site, with support from the Responsible Designer or site Experts as required.
  • Ensure Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements are met through rigorous oversight.
  • Challenge design decisions to ensure alignment with the project’s strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate support from external organizations to address technical issues.
  • Assess and address technical risks, ensuring they are managed effectively.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Engineering (Responsible Designer).
  • Report operationally to the assigned Engineering Lead, providing regular updates and escalating issues as necessary.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical design, installation, and/or commissioning, particularly within the nuclear industry.
  • Multi-disciplinary Technical Knowledge applicable to the nuclear or construction/installation industries.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety Legislation, including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, especially within a site environment.
  • Proactive and Independent Work Ethic: Capable of managing tasks autonomously while effectively reporting on and escalating issues.
