Lab Technician

Role: Lab Technician                              
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £30,000
Shift: 8am - 4.30pm (2pm Friday finish)
Permanent Position
This is an excellent opportunity for a Lab Technician to join an established engineering business in Cardiff.
This market leading engineering company supports a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and oil & gas.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual testing as per the laboratory testing schedule (as per business requirements).
Communicate test fails and escalate issues as per the escalation process.
Make chemical additions to, and discards from, process solutions in a safe manner as per H&S instructions and procedures, safely handling heavy loads in accordance with safe manual handling procedures.
Work proactively to support production and inspection making recommendations and suggestions to address test fails in order to close technical issues in a timely manner.
Supporting quality and production during internal and external audits.
To ensure 5S principles are followed; maintaining an environment that supports efficient working and a methodical approach.
To look after laboratory equipment maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility.
To order and maintain stock and resources.
To perform other duties as may be assigned by the line manager or as per the requirements of the business.
Qualifications & Experiences:
Previous laboratory experience
Engineering background would be advantageous.
Strong communication skills
