Q Partners is seeking a talented and experienced KDB+ Developer to join our team and work on-site at an esteemed Investment Bank. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the wider KDB development team, quant traders, and heads of desks to enhance the current infrastructure, develop new functionalities, and build insightful dashboards tailored for the traders.


This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your strong KDB+/Q development skills and exposure to dashboarding to make a significant impact in the finance domain.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development team, quant traders, and heads of desks to gather requirements and understand business needs.
  • Develop and enhance the existing KDB+ infrastructure based on stakeholders' requests, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Design and implement new functionalities in KDB+/Q to support the repo desk's operations and trading strategies.
  • Utilize your expertise in KDB+/Q to optimize data processing and storage, ensuring efficient handling of large volumes of financial data.
  • Build intuitive and visually appealing dashboards using KDB+ technologies to provide real-time insights and analytics for the repo desk.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback, iterate on solutions, and continuously improve the dashboards and functionalities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration of KDB solutions with existing systems and workflows.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a KDB+ Developer, with strong proficiency in Q programming language.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining KDB solutions in a finance or trading environment.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, trading workflows, and concepts such as repos.
  • Experience in building dashboards and visualisations using KDB+ technologies (e.g., Grafana, kx Dashboards) or similar tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Business acumen and the ability to quickly understand and absorb domain knowledge.
