Engineering Centre Workshop Manager

The Role:
We are seeking to appoint an Engineering Centre Workshop Manager to lead the Engineering Workshop Team (Instructors/Tutors) and deliver operational excellence through the effective management of the Centre. The successful postholder will support the Engineering Delivery Manager with the day-to-day management including people management, quality of delivery, apprentice/learner experience and funding/quality compliance in accordance with departmental and wider business objectives.
Essential Requirements:
* Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant subject area or relevant industry experience
* GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above
* Level 3 (or above) teaching qualification
* Knowledge of Apprenticeships and Apprenticeship standards
* Proven success in improving Apprenticeship performance and retention rates
* Experience of leading a team with the ability to mentor and coach
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Email and Teams
* Experience of budget management
* Ability to deliver operational business plans and disseminate statistical business and performance data
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Strong time-management and organisational skills
* Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to staff, Apprentices/Learners, employers and external organisations
