About the Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced and skilled E&I Estimator. This role will involve developing detailed cost estimates and managing bids for both large and complex design and build projects. The successful candidate will be crucial in ensuring all client requirements and technical considerations are accurately addressed, while also focusing on value engineering and enhancing bid profitability.
This is an outstanding opportunity to collaborate with some of the largest blue-chip clients in the UK on high-profile projects. The successful candidate will have the chance to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, contributing significantly to the UK's critical infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Develop accurate take-offs and prime cost estimates using software tools like Trimble Contract Master or bespoke systems, ensuring quality and reliability.
Bid Management: Lead the preparation and submission of bids, ensuring they are competitive, strategic, and exceed client expectations by deeply understanding project specifications.
Value-Driven Engineering: Seek innovative, cost-effective solutions to improve bid profitability and project value, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, project managers, and procurement teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication for smooth project execution.
Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of tenders, ensuring data is precise, organized, and readily accessible for analysis and review.
Independent Work: Manage multiple, concurrent projects independently, showcasing exceptional time management, prioritisation skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Candidate Requirements:
Analytical Skills: Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value engineering initiatives that distinguish bids.
Problem-Solving: Anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions, remaining calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Attention to Detail: Ensure all estimates are thorough, accurate, and of high quality, even when working under tight deadlines.
Innovative Mindset: Embrace new technologies and industry trends to enhance work and maintain a competitive edge.
Communication: Effectively distill complex information into actionable insights, ensuring alignment between project goals and client needs.
Adaptability: Show resilience by adapting to changing project requirements and pushing projects forward with determination.
A full UK driving license is essential due to the mobility requirements of this role.
