We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Obs & Gynae) Specialty Trainee (ST3) to join our team. As an ST3 trainee in Obs & Gynae, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and clinical services under the supervision of experienced consultants. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to further develop their skills and knowledge in obstetrics and gynaecology and progress towards a career as a specialist in this field.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to patients under the supervision of consultant obstetricians and gynaecologists.
Participate actively in the management of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including conducting obstetric assessments, performing deliveries, and managing obstetric emergencies.
Assist in the diagnosis and management of gynaecological conditions, including outpatient clinics, surgical procedures, and inpatient care.
Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and clinical audits to review patient cases and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Take responsibility for the accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, clinical findings, treatment plans, and interventions in electronic medical records.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including attendance at relevant educational events, courses, and training sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Adhere to clinical governance and patient safety protocols and maintain high standards of professional conduct and ethical practice at all times.
Requirements:
Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Completion of Foundation Year 2 (FY2) training or equivalent experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Demonstrated interest and commitment to pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynaecology, with a strong foundation in basic clinical skills and knowledge.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Willingness to participate in on-call duties and work flexible hours as required by the training program.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in training and assessment activities as part of the Specialty Training (ST3) curriculum.
