Legal Counsel – European Energy Markets
About the Company:
We are recruiting on behalf of a global leading blue-chip energy leader who are committed to a sustainable future. This is to join the Trading & Shipping division, focusing on natural gas, biogas, power, and low-carbon products in the European markets.
About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support across the transactional cycle for natural gas, biogas, power, or carbon businesses, including drafting and negotiating bespoke agreements and master trading agreements.
- Advise on credit support structures, collateral, and legal aspects of M&A activities, including joint ventures.
Team Collaboration:
- Join a diverse legal team based primarily in London, working closely with traders, originators, and other functions to support a European business.
- You'll report to the Managing Counsel for Gas & Power Trading Europe.
Key Skills:
- Qualified lawyer in UK or Europe with minimum 4 PQE
- Expertise in Energy Markets: Experience in UK and European natural gas, power, biogas, or carbon markets.
- Strong Drafting & Negotiation: Capable of handling complex documentation under tight deadlines.
- Team-Oriented: Effective collaboration with legal and business teams.
