As an SEN teacher, you will be working with students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), including children with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).

Your responsibilities as an SEN teacher may include:
Lesson planning and delivery for students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs. This may include alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy and intensive interaction sessions.
Helping students to develop confidence and independence.
Implementing behaviour management techniques, which may include physical restraints, to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
Working with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors, and psychologists
Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.To be an SEN teacher, you will need:
The right to work in the UK.
Early Career Teacher (ECT) with relevant experience will be considered.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas trained teacher awaiting QTS.
A clear and up-to-date DBS
Experience working as an SEN teacher in a UK school.
