Commercial Vehicle Technician (Level 3)
Barker Ross is looking for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Technician to support the workshop manager.
Our client are front line services such as recycling and waste collections, street cleansing and ground maintenance tasks and passenger services.
The depot is based in Oakleigh and maintains a large fleet of service vehicles and plant used for frontline services, such as passenger services, ground maintenance, street cleaning, recycling, and waste collections.
Hours: 36 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities, this is not a complete list:
Maintain vehicles such as RCVs and vans up to and above VOSA standards.
Assist in the delivery of an efficient and effective transport workshop service in a safe manner.
MOT Testing (Class 4, 5 & 7)
Provide effective support to the Environmental Services Manager.
Identify and report all potential faults or non - compliance affecting operational and roadworthy capability, notifying supervision accordingly.
Have required level of skill and knowledge of electric/hybrid vehicles.
Knowledge of the dangers surrounding repairs carried out to live high voltage vehicle electrical components and systems.
Responsible for own day to day activities and workload.
Always adhere to health and safety.
To be considered for this role:
You must -
Hold an NVQ 3 or IMI 3 Heavy Motor Vehicle qualification or equivalent.
Qualified commercial vehicle inspector VOSA accreditation.
Educated to GCSE level as a standard level of secondary education.
Experience in transport workshop environment or operating within a team in transport logistics or equivalent.
Ability to be part of a standby team working from 9.30pm - 6.30am
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic IT systems experience in a transport related environment.
