Shipping Officer

are currently looking for a Shipping Officer for our client who operate in the defence/aerospace arena. This position is 100% based onsite at their offices in Stevenage.
The Role:nTo liaise and work closely with our export control team, local customs officers and freight forwarders. To deliver a benchmark export and shipping service to the business.
Key Responsibilities:nTimely delivery of product in line with project demands.nCreation, completion and management of documentation required to effect export deliveries, to include, transport documents, hazardous goods note, customs formalities etc.nTopicality of Import, Export and Transport Registers.nLiaise with transport both UK and International.nUndertake Imports and report Intrastats as required.nPromotion of functional excellence.nAssist Export Control Department in compliance with regards to Export Licences.nMaintain topicality with all transport legislation.nIdentify process improvements.nDay to day knowledge of all movements from site.
Experience Required:nDetailed knowledge of export legislation.nAbility to adapt style of communication to ensure effective delivery of service.nInterpersonal skills across different business functions.nStrength of character not to deviate from process when other demands conflict.
