Production Engineer

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a a Qualified Vehicle Modifier of Commercial Vehicles recruit a Production Engineer to be based at a major automotive OEM site in Dagenham, and the role comes with an excellent salary and benefits package.
As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of any improvements as well as control the product quality output as a result of that change. You will have excellent relationships with the Design and Engineering teams to support introducing new products from R&D into main line production.
In your first few weeks in this Production Engineer role, you can expect to:
Encourage and foster an environment where improvements and customer quality are key
Support the production line Technicians to implement and train any process improvement or process changes to the Operational teams
Pareto quality issues to identify and implement continuous improvement activities to improve quality, throughput and process flow
Maximise the use of data to drive improvements
To apply for this Production Engineer role, you will need an HNC/degree or time-served apprenticeship with an automotive manufacturing background and experience utilising SQCDP principles. You will also require the following:
Mechanical engineering experience or Process Quality Improvement
Experience of analysing customer and internal changes, including feasibility studies
Experience with process cost-saving proposals
