East West Railway Company (that's us) was created by
the Department for Transport (DfT) to oversee the delivery of East West Rail
from construction through to wheels in motion, making sure the railway comes
together in the right way.

Role Summary: Working in the Quality & Business Assurance Team, this role is key in building and maintaining confidence and trust with EWR (East West Railway) Co internal and external stakeholders.

The Quality and Assurance Lead will support a range of assurance activities, including government reviews and audits, and with organisations such as IPA, GIAA. The role will facilitate efficient delivery of the programme and aim to provide early identification and mitigation of assurance and risk exposure. Interacting with stakeholders directly or via governance forums such as the Audit and Risk Committee and internal compliance and assurance panels.

Responsible for the integration and implementation of the governance and assurance principles across business management, people, and systems. The role interacts with all areas across the organisation and requires a strong understanding of the organisational structure as well as the programme strategic outcomes.

Team dimensions: Reporting to the Quality Management Executive as part of the Quality and Business Assurance Team

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy implementation to deploy and integrate Quality and assurance activities across EWR Co
  • Responsible for developing and maturing excellent customer relationships across the business.
  • Building positive relationships with key internal stakeholders providing assurance and auditing activities across the 3 lines of assurance (e.g. Finance (Internal Audit), Quality (Management System Audits), Programme Controls, Functional Assurance leads)
  • Demonstrable experience of facilitating and driving Continuous Improvement, utilising Business Change and Quality Management tools & Principles
  • Engaging communication, presentation and influencing skills;
  • Drive continuous improvement culture and behaviours in line with our mission to share openly, learn quickly and think differently to enable effective decision making
  • Support the Business Transformation Team to implement change in the organisation when required
  • Supporting the adoption of modern digital tools and solutions to support business outcomes
  • Development of processes in appropriate tools (Visio, Sparx, etc.) and publication of associated documentation held in the Integrated Management System (IMS);
  • Providing guidance and advice to authors on the IMS Workflow review and approval system and input into its on-going development and improvement.
  • Supporting the Professional Homes and Communities in creating and updating content in the IMS, both in documents and SharePoint pages.
  • Supporting the Quality team in identifying and filling process gaps
