Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Art and Design Teacher to inspire students across KS3 and KS4 at a well-regarded secondary academy in Southampton. This role is set to start in September 2024 on a long-term contract. The successful candidate will join a supportive and creative department, where they will be responsible for delivering high-quality Art and Design lessons that engage and motivate students. This mixed secondary academy in Southampton serves a diverse community of students aged 11 to 16, with an enrollment of approximately 900 students. Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Art and Design lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
Inspire students to develop their artistic skills and creativity.
Provide constructive feedback and assess student progress to support their academic and personal growth.
Create a classroom environment that encourages exploration and innovation in Art and Design.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Art and Design curriculum and participate in departmental initiatives.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Degree in Art and Design or a related field.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Experience teaching Art and Design at the secondary level is desirable but not essential.
