Founding Machine Learning Engineer

A YC-backed start-up in AI safety, is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join their founding team. The role is to spearhead the scaling of their fine-tuning and inference frameworks for LLM's.

Role:

Build an automated fine-tuning framework that can scalenExplore novel synthetic data generation techniquesnEngineer robust, high-performance inference platformsnCollaborate in defining and steering their evolving inference and training stack

Experience

Technical:nHave experience operating orchestration systems such as SLURM, Ray, or similar.nExperience in creating and managing multi-instance clusters for data and model parallel training across GPUs/TPUs, preferably using PyTorch and Kubernetes.nProficiency in efficient serving of large machine learning models at scale, including quantisation and distributed computing.

General:nKeen interest in AI and AI safetynCan demonstrate you can work in a fast-growing early stage start-upnA degree in Computer Science, AI or similarnAt least 2 years professional experience outside university (post Masters/PhD)
