The Role:nWe are seeking a HV Cable Design Engineer to join one of our key engineering clients. You will work both independently and alongside the Senior Design Engineer & other members of the teamnto deliver cable design projects to targeted levels of quality, timeliness, and profitability. You will also undertake cable system design, studies, and calculations to relevant BSEN/IEC/National Grid/DNO/ENA standards and practices.

Package:nSalary - 50k-70k (dependent on experience)nWorking conditions - Remote/hybrid (various office locations)nBenefits - Company car or car allowance, annual bonus, private healthcare, exceptional pension, life insurance, 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Selected Key Responsibilities:nPrepare cable system design calculation including cable sizing assessments, earthing and interface studiesnWork closely with cross-functional teams to integrate HV cable designs seamlessly into larger projectsnProvide input into cable routing feasibility and detailed design studies working with other members of the Team, taking local planning, traffic management and client requirements into account, while developing the most economical cable system designnAttending sites for inspection and design purposes.

Skills/Experience:nDegree – Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification(s) and/or relevant experience in a related field.nCompetent in using CYMCAP or similar softwarenKnowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation (Desirable)nDemonstrable technical skills in Transmission voltage level underground cable systems development, design and specification or demonstrable transferable skills and experience
