Exciting Opportunity for a Chemistry Qualified Technical Assessor in Hazardous Waste Management
Position: Technical Assessor – Hazardous Waste
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: 7am-4pm with a half-hour lunch break
Location: Wednesbury, Oldbury, West Bromwich, and surrounding areas
Previous Titles May Include: Technical Support Chemist, Site Chemist
Role Overview: Technical Assessor – Hazardous Waste
In this role, you'll leverage your chemistry expertise to assess hazardous waste streams, focusing on accurate classification and determining appropriate disposal routes and costs. While physical chemistry plays a minor role, your understanding of chemical principles will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess incoming waste streams using information from the sales team
Ensure correct classification and identify disposal methods and costs
Experience Required: Technical Assessor – Hazardous Waste
Experience in hazardous waste management is essential, ideally in roles such as Technical Assessor or Site Chemist with technical assessment responsibilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel. Direct client interaction experience is advantageous.
Qualifications:
Degree in Chemistry or related subjects with significant chemistry modules
Additional certifications such as WAMITAB COTC, IOSH, or NEBOSH safety qualifications are beneficial but not mandatory
