Balfour Beatty VINCI is proud to be designing and building a 90KM stretch of the West Midlands section of HS2. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Environmental Coordinator within the Sustainability.
This role will be based on site in Coleshill.
Our head office is based located within an excellent location easily accessible via the M6 and M42. The office is also accessible via rail, we offer employees a shuttle bus transfer to our office from Birmingham international.
Responsible for challenging the environmental design of the Mainline sub-lots and reviewing the models for all environmental topics that are to be produced in the MIDP during consolidation and detail design.
Supports the sub-lots lot Design/Engineering Managers and Environmental Design Engineers Coordinators.
Ensure that the design is compliant with the EMRs and the U&As via the EMR Compliance Checklist & EMR Compliance Note.Experience required
• Large scale linear project experience (High speed Rail, Rail and Highway).
• Significant experience with both a consulting engineer and either a main contractor or a specialist environmental contractor.
• Experience of environmental design and mitigation

Our work with HS2
Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
• 42 viaducts totalling over 11km
• 66 overbridges
• More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km
• 56 culverts
• 66 embankments reaching over 33km
• Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures
• Six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and overbridge structures
