Are you a Software Engineer passionate about solving complex problems and delivering innovative solutions? We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on building impactful tools and applications for a tech-first investment management business. We have multiple roles at all levels.


About the work

In this exciting role, you’ll contribute to the development and maintenance of cutting-edge software supporting investment teams from order management straight through. Your work will span the full technology stack, from designing user-friendly interfaces to building robust backend systems, and integrating data sources to deliver value and competitive edge.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain tools for portfolio and order management , supporting investment teams in their day-to-day operations.
  • Work across the full technology stack , including front-end (React ) and back-end (Python , NodeJS ).
  • Build and maintain scalable RESTful or GraphQL APIs to enable seamless data flow.
  • Design and optimise ETL pipelines for efficient data processing and transformation.
  • Integrate diverse systems and databases (Hive data lake , MongoDB , SQL Server ).
  • Ensure high-quality software delivery, covering all aspects of the SDLC, from design to deployment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working collaboratively and thrives on learning and innovation.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python , NodeJS , or similar backend languages.
  • Front-end development experience using React and knowledge of state management tools like Redux .
  • Solid understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases .
  • Familiarity with building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes .
  • Experience designing and building scalable APIs (REST /GraphQL ).
  • A proven track record of delivering reliable and well-tested software.


Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to containerisation tools such as Docker .
  • Knowledge of portfolio or order management systems (e.g., Charles River, Aladdin, SimCorp).
  • Familiarity with clean coding practices, TDD, and other quality-focused methodologies.
