The team you’ll work with:nOur product org. is the engine of our business. They ensure we can provide the right products, for the right clients, at the right time. Closely aligned with our Sales teams and back office functions, our Product org helps drive our commercial strategy, and nurture the extraordinary and innovative ideas our clients want to bring to market.

The value you’ll add:nAs an externally focussed member of our Payments Product Management team, you’ll be instrumental in being the eyes and ears for HSBC Innovation Banking in the wider market. Combining your interest with the commercial payments landscape, with the expectations of the regulator, you’ll be an active member of the UK and international payments community, and play an instrumental role in the evolution and delivery of the payments proposition within HSBC Innovation Banking.

What you can expect to be doing:nWorking in a hands-on capacity, you'll be involved in product development, maintenance and commercialisation and play an active role in shaping client experience and key strategic priorities from day one. This will include working closely with internal partners (local, regional and global) and clients whilst continuously monitoring industry environment to ensure product offerings are evolving with regulatory and market changes.

On a regular basis, you can expect to be doing the following:

Driving product Strategy and Performance by stablishing visibility to business P&L and understand its key commercial drivers; understanding the competitive strengths and weaknesses of product portfolio under management.

Engaging with industry and regulatory bodies to help inform the definition of client product strategy and multi-year product roadmap.

Working closely with cross functional stakeholders and to develop and implement new product propositions from start to finish.

Ensuring timely response to client enquiries, set-up issues and requests for product approvals, pricing, legal and internal queries.

Liaising with HSBC technology, operations, and other stakeholders to drive product development and resolve related issues.

Contributing to managing the product risk and control framework including Product Approval Programs, stress testing, conduct risk reviews etc.

Interacting with risk, finance, treasury, and regulatory colleagues around issues including operational risk, reg reporting and underlying balance sheet considerations.

Requirements:

You’ll be an expert in all things related to UK payments services and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of European services such as SEPA / T2 and SWIFT.

ACT qualified, or prior experience in Corporate Treasury etc, with a strong numerical or analytical background, intellectual curiosity and ability to think conceptually.

Well networked with UK industry bodies and regulatory bodies, with a clear understanding and appreciation of the UK regulatory framework.

Previous Product Owner” experience with a solid understanding of product lifecycle methodology within payments and/or receivables.

Ability to communicate with, and present ideas to senior internal and external stakeholders within virtual and matrix reporting environments.

Ability to perform under pressure, prioritise effectively, appreciating and adapting to a fast-moving business environment.
