Apprentice SHEQ Advisor
Reporting To Job Title
SHEQ Manager
Purpose
An Apprentice SHEQ Advisor will learn to deliver effective multi-site Safety, health environmental & quality support, advice, guidance and support by effective engagement and challenge with project teams and supply chain partners. 
The role involves learning to:
    *  Communicate & promote a positive SHEQ ethos and culture
    *  Take appropriate and robust action for identified non-compliance with industry and United Living Standards and expectations
Guide and advise projects on the implementation of business management system, policies, and procedures.
Monitor site performance using the company monitoring arrangements.
Conduct investigations for allocated accident and incident and support and develop project team members to perform quality investigations.
Lead and support the continuous improvement of SHEQ performance.
Proactively monitor the closure of actions, via internal reporting arrangements.
Support and advise subcontractors and suppliers as required.
Participate and support in the bid, pre con and pre start processes as required/ based on risk profiles.
Provide performance analysis and management reporting as required.
Support line manager and wider team in the delivery of agreed strategy and action plans.
Other duties that may be allocated. 
Qualifications
An apprentice SHEQ Advisor will learn to 
Always lead by example – a not “walking by” attitude with regards to unsafe/ safe working practices or behaviour
Develop trust and relationships across the region with different types and level of people.
Be resilient and assertive
Analytical and decisive
Understand and deliver safety obligations in a practical way in accord with the law and industry standardsKey skills and behaviours include:
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Team player
Basic computer skills eg to compile reports and use a database for records and researchCandidates need to be able to travel within the UK including some overnight stays
Drive (or actively progressing towards obtaining the driving licence)
