Job Summary:
The Fire Damper Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire damper systems. This role involves ensuring fire dampers function correctly to prevent the spread of fire and smoke within buildings, thereby enhancing the overall safety and compliance of our clients' facilities.
40 hour week (Monday – Friday), with overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation: Install fire dampers in various settings, ensuring compliance with fire safety codes and standards.
* Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and testing of fire dampers to ensure optimal operation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of fire damper systems, identifying and addressing any issues or potential hazards.
* Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning or damaged fire dampers, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs, including reports on the condition and functionality of fire dampers.
* Compliance: Stay updated on relevant fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring all work adheres to legal and industry requirements.
Qualifications:
* Must hold a UK Driving License
Skills:
* Strong understanding of fire safety codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., BS, EN).
* Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
