ChandlerKBS
are seeking to recruit a Senior Cost & Project Manager (5+ years’ experience) to join our Building’s team. This role will be based in our Cardiff Office, with a flexible hybrid working approach.
The role of a Senior Cost & Project Manager includes the following responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership to Project Management team, including project and service delivery, processes, development etc.nContribute towards bid and tender preparation and business development.nAssume day - to - day delivery responsibility for projects / programmes of work and demonstrate the ability to take on tasks without supervision.nMonitor project fees and ensure resource and time inputs are in line with approved budgets.nEnsure that change control processes are effectively managed for the services we provide.nStrengthen our service delivery capability and promote knowledge capture, sharing and innovation.nPrepare budget estimates, cost plans and client reports.nProvide advice on procurement and contracts.nPrepare and evaluating tenders, contractor selection and contract documentation.nProvide Risk and Value Management.nContract administration including preparation of valuations, forecasts, cost reports and attendance at project meetings.nPreparation of bills of quantities, schedules of rates, or other methods of work evaluation.nDeliver all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner to a high standard of quality.nSupport the implementation of strategic initiatives at service and sector level.nManage the delivery of work through proactive involvement where appropriate and through performance management of personnel to ensure work is completed in a timely manner to a high quality standard.nProvide leadership to the staff, where required. Resolve conflicts of priorities and personalities relating to work with the appropriate Partner or Associate.nMentor and coach team members, ensuring that staff and new starters are developed to support the successful growth of the Practice and development of their career.nEnsure service delivery is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Practice, particularly Health and Safety and Quality Assurance.nEnsure compliance with the client's corporate governance procedures where applicable.nAchieve all objectives as required by the annual performance review process.nDevelop our business; networking and developing client relationships.nDemonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development and continuous improvement.nWork to deadlines set by the Project Team Leader.nEnsuring filing of project correspondence is maintained in accordance with requirements.nCommunicating effectively with all stakeholders to ensure that all parties are kept informed on all relevant matters impacting and influencing projects.nCommunicating with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the project strategies, briefs and client requirements.nDeveloping and managing the Project Programmes and obtaining the buy-in of all stakeholders.nDriving project performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring client delivery is above expectation.

Qualifications & Skills:
Ideally degree qualified: construction, cost management, engineering, quantity surveying or other RICS accredited degree.nMRICS/other equivalent qualification or experience.nStrong core technical skills.nStrong interpersonal and team building skills.nGood interpersonal skills with both client and staff.nStrong analytical skills, sound judgement and aptitude for forward planning.nEnergetic and motivated with natural drive and an innovative flair, resourcefulness and ability to adapt to change.nAn ability to think clearly and make reasoned decisions, explaining the logic employed.nStrong oral and written communication and presentation skills.nGood experience of managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects.nExtensive experience of industry standard forms of contract, typically JCT and NEC.nExcellent pre and post contract technical cost management skills.nExtensive knowledge of construction industry technical matters with circa 5 years plus post qualification experience.nStrong IT skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and RIPAC (relevant training will be given on bespoke software)
