The Board of Trustees at GUST Independent School are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Head of School, due to retirement.

We are a small independent special school (40 pupils), recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, offering children and young people (6-17 years old) with a diverse range of additional needs, the opportunity to learn in a supportive, safe and caring environment, in a way that works for them, as individuals.

We are keen to appoint an inspirational Head of School and dynamic leader with a proven track record of school improvement and inspirational leadership to take the school to the next stage of its development and beyond.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for the right person to lead a strong, passionate team of people who are fully committed to our ethos and aspirations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate that they share such values, have a track record of strong leadership and evidence of impact. They will be an outstanding practitioner, have excellent social skills and demonstrate the ability to work creatively, innovatively and when required, under pressure. They will be passionate about education for children and young people, they will be committed to working with and developing others, including staff and students alike.
