What the role will involve:nTo carry out Environmental monitoring of clean rooms and controlled manufacturing areas.nRequest Bioburden samples per sampling plan and book in Bioburden samples.nTo carry out Bioburden product testing to support the manufacturing process in a timely manner.nTo carry out Bioburden validation for New Product Development.nTo prepare In-house media and diluents.nPerform sterility/fertility testing on the prepared media.nMaintain bacterial and yeast cultures.nTo perform Break Integrity monitoring when required within and outside working hours.nTo collect water samples and test.nTo prepare and execute validation protocols and reports when required.nTo promote and uphold Quality and Microbiology requirements within production and other departments.nMaintain the laboratory housekeeping and wash glassware.nWill be cross trained to work in Quality Control when required.nEnsure all testing is carried out in line with the laboratory standard operating procedures.nEnsure all generated data is trended and stored electronically and contains all the information necessary to allow a true and accurate interpretation of results.nIdentification and enumeration of microorganisms (Gram stain/ microscopy and Biochemical tests).nTo work with and handle class 1 and 2 strains of bacteria aseptically.nOrder and restock consumables (externally and internally) for all Microbiology testing.
What we're looking for?nHNC in applied Biology or relevant subject.nPrevious Microbiology Laboratory experience in a workplace is essential.nEnvironmental Monitoring of cleanrooms.nGood Microbiological/Aseptic techniques.nGram staining technique.nFamiliar with Biochemical kits.nExcellent organisational skills.nAbility to operate relevant testing instruments.nAbility to analyse test results and present a report.nBasic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, or other word processing and spreadsheet programs.nMulti-task and prioritise what tasks are always the most important.nExcellent problem-solving skills.nFlexibility in working hours to meet business needs.
