The Just Recruitment Group Ltd is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer (Manual Machinist & Fitter) for their client based in Gillingham, Kent.
Role will require working rotating day and late shifts.

Position overview
To be able to use standard manual workshop machines to produce components to supplied drawings.
To be able to assemble engine rigs for in house testing.
Responsibilities
* To carry out engineering tasks using manually operated machines and hand tools.
* To use a variety of measuring equipment.
* To conduct front line maintenance and basic fault diagnosis within the limits of training on equipment used.
* Designing and manufacturing of fabricated components using Gas, MIG, TIG, Plasma cutting sheet cutter and bending equipment
* Stripping, rebuilding, and modifying prototype diesel engines
* Fitting various fuel injection equipment to engine, including, pumps, injectors, low pressure fuel systems and high-pressure common rail systems.
Skills
Mandatory
* Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
* Ability to understand GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
* Ability to utilise a variety of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
* Ability to use a variety of measuring techniques and types of equipment.
Desirable
* Familiar with use of CAD models/ Solid Works or similar.
* Good IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office
* Ability to use and program CNC machining centres.
Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory
* Apprenticeship or experience in an Engineering related discipline; Mechanical, software, electronics, etc.
* Educated to B Tec Level 3 / NVQ Level 3, HNC or other Engineering qualification
* A good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
Desirable
* GibbsCAM CAD/CAM software or similar PC-based computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) system for programming computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
* Experienced in the manufacture to high precision tolerances.
* Data collection to qualify products / components as part of a quality system.
