Role summary:


The Payroll Specialist is responsible for delivering a comprehensive and accurate end-to-end payroll service, ensuring timely and precise processing of payroll entries, statutory payments, deductions, and benefits, including salary sacrifice and BIK charges. They ensure compliance with pension regulations and manage out-of-cycle pay requests, third-party payments, and year-end processes. The role involves producing and delivering monthly payroll reports to Finance, supporting internal and external audits, and contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes through the use of technology and data. The Payroll Specialist also plays a key role in promoting wellbeing initiatives, maintaining procedure documentation, building strong stakeholder relationships, and participating in cross-functional business projects, while always ensuring safety and environmental mindfulness in their work.


Skills/Responsibilities:


  • Process payroll entries and oversee those of other colleagues in the People Team
  • Accurate processing of statutory payments and deductions e.g. SSP, SMP, SHPP, SPP, SAP, AEO, redundancy, RTI
  • Manage the voluntary BIK charges and salary sacrifice processes
  • Ensure adherence of pension deductions to auto enrolment, pension scheme rules and pension regulations
  • Manage pay requests for colleagues outside of the main payroll
  • Manage payment and admin requests to third party providers
  • End of Year processes

Production and delivery of monthly reporting to the Finance Team e.g. pa
