Driver Essential? Yes, WAV for use on duty
Essential: Experience supporting children or young adults with complex care and medical needs, including suctioning, confident in all aspects of manual handling. This role is open to *Female applicants only.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Up to 30 hours per week available. Shift times: 8.00am – 8.00pm, 4.00pm – 8.00pm, and 8.00pm – 8.00am. Bank contracts are also available, please let us know your availability.

About this client/child: Winnie is a fabulous ‘girly-girl’, with a great sense of humour; a social butterfly who loves to laugh She loves to have her hair and nails done, to look as fabulous as she is. Winnie has a long list of hobbies and interests, including listening to music, watching movies and all things arts and crafts. Winnie has Cerebral Palsy (GMFCS Level 5), scoliosis, Dystonia, requires suctioning (oral), nebulisers, and has a Gastrostomy in situ for all nutrition, fluids and medication, she is a wheelchair user, and communicates using switches. Due to her care needs Winnie has 2:1 support, 24/7, to meet all her health, care and medical needs. Winnie lives in Stanmore with her mum, in a fully adapted home that includes a therapy room. Snap Care, working in collaboration with Winnie’s case management, are recruiting a full care team, including an RGN Team Lead and Deputy Team Leader.
Overview of role: This will be the first time Winnie has her own dedicated team in place providing 24/7 2:1 support, it is a very exciting time for Winnie and her family. Winnie’s team will be dedicated to her, assisting and supporting with all areas of ADL’s, health, care and medical needs, promoting independence and exploring new hobbies and interests. Training is provided in all areas of Winne’s care and health needs however you must have previous experience in complex medical care. The Complex Care Support Worker will work in collaboration with Winnie’s family, therapy team and other healthcare professionals to ensure Winnie is thriving and provided every opportunity to learn, and live life to the full. This role involves working days, waking nights and weekends (although you will not be expected to work every weekend). The rota is provided a minimum of 4 weeks in advance. The package is unable to offer set shifts, however, preferred shifts will try to be accommodated. Overtime is available, along with the opportunity to travel abroad with Winnie if desired.

A confident driver (WAV) and non-smoker; also both essential.
