Job Title:         Outdoor Education Instructor (With Swimming Teacher Responsibilities)
Location:         Oak Tree School, Truro
Salary:             £23,408.21 per annum
Hours:             42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm
Contract:         Permanent, Term Time only

About the role
To assist in planning and delivering a quality Outdoor Education provision tailored specifically around the needs of students at Oak Tree School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swimming instruction, with the ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to students of all skill levels and ages. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our students in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
To ensure quality outcomes can be demonstrated for our students in Outdoor Education & Swimming
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school at all times. The post holder will be expected to work on his/her own initiative and as part of a small team.
Essential:
Experience in delivering Outdoor Education lessons
Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle with business insurance
Suitability qualified in a number of Outdoor Education activities 
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) 
Teaching swimming qualification (SEQ

Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful inspection from Ofsted allowing us to offer a wider age range of pupils from 5 – 18 years the opportunity to have the best education possible. Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These pupils and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.
